Sherry Challberg, Founder, CEO and Director | email Sherry
Sherry has over 25 years experience in the biotech sector and has participated in building two young biotech ventures.   Prior to founding Marligen Biosciences in 2001, Dr. Challberg led product and business development efforts in genomics and molecular biology research at Invitrogen (formerly Life Technologies.) From 1985 until its acquisition by Digene Corporation in 1990, Dr. Challberg headed the molecular diagnostics product development group at Life Technologies. She then served as Vice President of R&D for Digene Corporation. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. 

Lowell Edmonson, Secretary, Treasurer and CFO | email Lowell
Lowell brings 35 years of experience as a corporate officer in finance and administration of both large and small companies. As Senior Vice President and CFO of Dow Environmental Inc. (formerly AWD Technologies) he was responsible for all financial, legal, and administrative services of a company which grew from startup to annual sales of $100M and became a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company. Prior to that, he was Secretary-Treasurer of NUS Corporation, a 2,200 person international consulting and engineering firm which over 23 years grew to annual revenues of $250M. He received his M.S. in Finance from George Washington University.

Dr. Fiona Coats, VP of Business Development | email Fiona
Fiona joined Marligen from Biosource, International, where she was a member of the senior management team as the VP of Business Development. In that position, as well as the Director of Cell Biology, she led groups responsible for the development commercial products, in-licensing of technologies, and intellectual property management. She received her B.Sc. (Hons.) in Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow and her Ph.D in Physiology/Pharmacology from Strathclyde University.

Jannie Flickinger, Director, Human Resources | email Jannie
Jannie brings over 25 years experience in the biotech industry, holding positions in R&D, manufacturing, and human resources in the NIH/NIDR, Electronucleonics, Inc, and Genex Corp. She joined Life Technologies in 1989 where she served as the HR site manager prior to joining Marligen. She received her B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Maryland and holds PHR certification.

Jim Lazar, VP and CSO | email Jim
JIm brings 17 years of experience directing product and technology development programs in molecular diagnostics and biotechnology at Digene Corporation. In that role, he managed the development of integrated systems including reagents and software for OEM instrumentation and was responsible for validation, manufacturing transfer and clinical trials for quantitative molecular biology products and diagnostic immunoassays. He is a faculty member of the Johns Hopkins University Graduate Program in Biotechnology where he teaches a course on molecular diagnostics. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Stanford University. 

Jeanmarie Curley, VP of Operations | email Jeanmarie
Jeanmarie has over 19 years of experience in the biotechnology field. Previously, as an officer and VP of Manufacturing at Digene Corporation, Ms. Curley oversaw Materials Management, Distribution, Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality Control. Ms. Curley managed the growth of the manufacturing team from the start up phase through annual revenue of $50M, and has successfully launched over 40 new reagent kits and instrumentation to the global diagnostics market. Ms. Curley has a B.S. in Chemistry from Dickinson College.
